JCC members whose children are presently enrolled in Shalom Aleph. - 2nd priority begins Wednesday, January 28, 2026
JCC members whose children have attended licensed programs at the
Simkin Family Child Development Centre. - 3rd priority begins Friday, January 30, 2026
JCC members whose children have never attended licensed programs at the
Simkin Family Child Development Centre. - 4th priority begins Monday, February 2, 2026
Non-member alumni and non-members whose children are enrolled in licensed programs at the Simkin Family Child Development Centre.Open registration begins Wednesday, February 4 and is ongoing.

To apply for Preschool Programs
- Completed Registration Package should be emailed to eceregistration@jccgv.bc.ca.
- If you are unable to send electronically, they can be dropped off at the JCC AFTER 9:00am on the day of your specific category or on any following day. No early applications will be accepted.
- Applicants will be notified as to their status the week of February 23, 2026.

Welcome
All of our licensed early childhood programs share the same philosophy of learning through play. Teachers nurture and provide care and education for your children, building relationships of trust and security. We believe that your children’s growing capacity for kindness and compassion, creativity and critical thinking skills are the foundation for our future.
- Our curriculum is constructed around children’s interests
- Multi-aged groupings invite children to move through their day based on their interests and abilities
- Children are immersed in the richness of Jewish traditions & values
- The arts are used as a language for learning and self-expression
- Science, math and literacy are integrated into programs in a hands-on, age appropriate way
- Physical activity is an important part of each day
Child Care
These full day programs offer children warm and nurturing, stimulating and challenging environments rich in materials to spark imagination, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. Teachers develop the schedule, routines and transitions of each day in response to children’s natural rhythms. Whether it’s free play—indoors and out, snack, nap/quiet time or specially scheduled sessions in art, Hebrew, music and sports, we provide a child-centered environment in these multi-aged groupings.
