ARTISTS RECEPTION and Q & A:
Thursday, January 22, 6pm – 8pm
Please join artists Jeannette Bittman, Andrea Dillingham-Lacoursiere, Eri Ishii for a conversation as they discuss their work, processes, and reflections on what it means to find—and make—home.
For Andrea Dillingham-Lacoursiere, home emerges through an unflinching dialogue with Lasqueti Island, where grief, weather, and the shedding bark of arbutus trees teach reciprocity and humility.
For Jeannette Bittman, home gathers around the table—a site of nourishment, memory, and connection central to Jewish life and to the shared rituals that anchor us.
For Eri Ishii, home exists within the emotional landscape of immigration, where the tension between fitting in and honoring cultural inheritance becomes a form of self-portraiture.
Together, the artists reveal home as something forged through presence, vulnerability, and the ties that bind us to land, to one another, and to ourselves.
