Group Fitness and Indoor Cycling

Pre-booking is required for all classes.

  • Pre-book by clicking the BOOK A CLASS link or by calling 604-257-5111.
  • Members can book 75 hours in advance; Non-members can book 24 hours in advance.
  • Bookings can be cancelled anytime up until 24 hours prior to your session to receive a credit or refund.
  • To cancel a booking please email booking@jccgv.bc.ca or call 604-257-5111.

Class Descriptions

Group Fitness

Group Fitness classes are free for JCC Members. Drop-in fees are required for Non-members.

Strength
A total body strength training workout using dumbbells, elastic toners and/or bodyweight exercises.

Cardio Mix
High and Low impact cardio combinations with strength segments.

Cardio Core
High and low impact cardio combinations followed by challenging core focused training.

Step & Sculpt
A high energy, full body workout with easy to follow step cardio and muscle conditioning components.

Intervals
An athletic class that combines strength, cardio and agility intervals followed by an extended stretch.

HIIT
High intensity interval training with strength and cardio. Low impact options will be given.

Barre Fusion
A ballet inspired workout combining dance, pilates, yoga and body conditioning; focusing on posture, controlled movement, muscle flexibility and joint mobility.

Tabata Strength
Full body strength training workout using Tabata intervals and a variety of small equipment.

Gentle Fit
Low impact cardio followed by muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility training. Great for older adults and those just starting a fitness program.

Chair Fit
Maintain and improve strength, posture and mobility in this gentle class using a chair for seated and/or standing exercises. Geared to those who experience pain and fatigue.

Zumba + Toning
This Latin inspired workout incorporates intervals of dance fitness and muscle endurance exercises using light handheld weights.

Zumba
This Latin inspired dance fitness class alternates between high intensity and low intensity intervals to get your heart pumping.

Zumba Gold
A Latin inspired dance fitness class combining low impact moves for a moderate intensity workout. Great for beginners or those who enjoy a slower tempo.

Mobility Flow
This class blends mobility exercises, yoga-inspired movements, and breathwork to enhance overall body awareness and improve movement efficiency. For all levels.

Yoga Intermediate
Improve strength, balance, flexibility and focus in this intermediate Hatha yoga class. Recommended to bring your own mat.

Gentle Yoga
A gentle Hatha class focusing on foundational yoga postures and breath. Recommended to bring your own mat.

Candlelight Yoga
Unwind from the day’s activities in this restorative yoga class. The soft glow of candlelight engages the parasympathetic nervous system to induce relaxation.

Flow Yoga
Move through a choreographed sequence of yoga poses. Synchronization of breath and movement is emphasized throughout. All levels welcome.

Indoor Cycling

Indoor Cycling classes are a paid drop-in program.
Members $10/class; Non-Members $16/class

CYCLE COMBO
A 60 minute combo class with 40 minutes of Cycling with hill climbs, high intensity intervals, and speed work; followed by 20 minutes of strength and conditioning.

CYCLE CORE
A 60 minute class with 40 minutes of Cycling with hill climbs, high intensity intervals, and speed work; followed by 20 minutes of core and upper body endurance exercises.


Age Requirements for Fitness

Teens 16 and up are welcome to attend the Fitness Centre and Group Fitness classes. For teens aged 13-15 please visit Teen Fitness

JCC Fitness Policies

Fitness Centre Policies

  • Access: Use your personal membership card to enter. Cards are non-transferable.
  • Age Requirements: Ages 16+ may use the Fitness Centre. Ages 13–15 please see our Teens in the Fitness Centre policy.
  • Respect: Treat members, staff, and equipment with care and consideration.
  • Footwear: Clean, closed-toe athletic shoes must be worn. Exception is when using the stretching platform.
  • Personal Hygiene: Maintain good hygiene and wear clean clothing.
  • Fragrance-Free: Fragrances are not allowed.
    Cardio Equipment: Be mindful of time limits when others are waiting.
  • Sharing Equipment: Share strength equipment and allow others to “work in” between sets.
  • Equipment Care: Wipe down machines after use and return items to their place.
  • Ask for Help: Please ask Fitness Staff for assistance with equipment if needed.
  • Weight Dropping: Avoid dropping weights repeatedly or without control.
  • Cell Phones: No phone use inside. Take calls outside the Fitness Centre.
  • Belongings: Use cubbies or change room lockers to store bags and personal items.
  • Food Policy: No food, gum, or glass bottles allowed.
  • Photography: No photos or videos without prior approval.

Fitness Class Policies

  • Pre-Booking Required: All classes must be booked in advance. See the schedule or front desk for details.
  • Age Requirements: Ages 16+ may attend alone. Ages 13–15 must be accompanied by a guardian.
  • Arrive on Time: Please arrive before class begins. Late arrivals are disruptive and your booking may be given to someone on the waitlist.
  • Drop-ins & Waitlist: If you’re on the waitlist or haven’t pre-booked, wait 5 minutes after class starts to check for open spots.
  • Studio Entry: If another class is in session, please wait until it ends before entering to set up.
  • Footwear: Clean, closed-toe athletic shoes are required (except for Yoga, Pilates, and Barre).
  • Personal Hygiene: Maintain good hygiene and wear clean clothing.
  • Fragrance-Free: Fragrances are not allowed.
  • Equipment Care: Wipe down mats and equipment after use and return them to their proper place.
  • Health & Safety: Let the instructor know if you’re new to exercise or have any injuries or medical conditions.
  • Cell Phones: No phone use in class. Step outside to take calls.
  • Belongings: Use cubbies or change room lockers to store bags and personal items.
  • Food Policy: No food, gum, or glass bottles allowed.
  • Photography: No photos or videos without prior approval.
  • Class Changes: Classes and instructors may change without notice
